The United States is currently experiencing its largest outbreak of cyclosporiasis in several years, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting a total of 1,186 cases as of July 9, 2026.
Of these cases, 843 have been identified as domestically acquired, while an additional 343 cases are linked to travel outside the country.
Health officials are urging individuals to take precautions and report any symptoms associated with the parasite, which can cause gastrointestinal illness.
